Counter Ducks lets you hide in the flock, then hunt the hunters
Play as a duck that hides in the flock and attacks hunters, or take up to three friends into the separate PvE hunting mode. A free Windows demo is available.
Read articleIn Counter Ducks, being the duck means you can turn on the people trying to shoot you. Fly around the map, hide among ordinary NPC ducks and use explosive abilities to attack the hunters. The free Windows demo includes this Versus mode alongside a separate solo and co-op hunting mode.
Ducks have buildings to destroy
Versus gives the two sides different jobs. Ducks attack the hunters’ infrastructure and eliminate their opponents; hunters have to stop them and protect their buildings. You’re fighting over more than who can land the next shot: as a duck, you can use the flock as cover before attacking a target the hunters need to defend.
Steam currently describes PvP as 4v4. Older studio material still says 3v3, so use the current Steam listing when organising a group.
Or take your friends hunting
Hunting Mode is separate PvE. Go alone or bring up to three friends, explore the map, hunt ducks and take jobs from local characters. Your earnings pay for weapons, equipment and vehicles. If you want to work together rather than split into opposing teams, this is the mode to look at.
The demo is available now
SandZ Studio released the demo on October 16, 2026. The demo’s Steam page lists Windows; the full-game listing also supports macOS, but that does not make the demo available on Mac. SandZ Studio is planning an Early Access launch in Q1 2027. Its 2027 roadmap targets the full release for Q4 2027; both are planned windows rather than fixed release dates.

SandZ Studio confirmed to Crit Pick on October 24 that the demo will remain available after Steam Next Fest, with no end date currently planned.
