Cucina Stellata turns Italian cooking into body horror
A free horror game about following recipes as hunger becomes an obsession. Expect extreme violence, self-harm and deliberately nauseating scenes.
Read articleIn Cucina Stellata, following a recipe eventually means preparing things you would never consider food. You cook in a 19th-century Italian kitchen as the protagonist’s hunger pushes him towards increasingly grotesque meals.
You handle the ingredients and prepare each meal as the recipes become more disturbing. Steam reviewers describe growing dread about the next recipe instruction, rather than simply watching something unpleasant happen. The developers frame the story around gastronomy, ritual and cosmic appetite.
This is one for players who actively seek out repulsive body horror. Filthy Eden explicitly warns about low-poly, low-resolution depictions of extreme violence, self-harm and disgusting scenes that may cause nausea. The visual style is not a reason to assume the material will be mild.
Developed by Filthy Eden and published by CRITICAL REFLEX, the Steam version launched on October 20, 2026, and is free to play on Windows. Earlier versions were available before the Steam launch.
