GRAVHOUNDS: co-op building, demos and release plans
GRAVHOUNDS mixes co-op combat, building and resource runs. Here is how it works, where to try the demo and what the release plans actually cover.

GRAVHOUNDS puts you to work as a bioengineered dog on hostile planets. You gather resources, build an operation and defend it while the local wildlife objects. The job supports solo play or an online crew of up to four. Getting the resources is only part of it: you also have to get out.
Reward Pods provide weapons and upgrades during a run. Combined with construction, that gives you decisions to make while the pressure builds. How comfortably those systems work together is something to test in the demo.
Can you play GRAVHOUNDS now?
A free demo is available on Steam for Windows. There is also a separate Xbox demo listing for Xbox Series X|S and PC. These are demos; the full game has not launched.
In its Xbox Wire announcement, Octopus Panic gives 2 November 2026 as the planned Xbox Game Preview launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, including Game Pass on day one. Game Preview is an early-access release, rather than a finished 1.0 launch.
The Steam store now also lists 2 November 2026 as its planned Early Access release date. That is a work-in-progress launch, not version 1.0. The Xbox demo advertises cross-platform co-op, but that listing alone does not confirm Steam-to-Xbox play.
What to check in the demo
If the combination of co-op hauling, building and fighting appeals to you, the demo gives you a way to try it before committing to the full game. Pay attention to placing structures under pressure, reading your pipeline network and knowing when to leave. Those are more useful checks than whether the dogs look good in space suits. They do have the outfits sorted.
