Nivalis Nights: from noodle stand to nightclub in a cyberpunk city

Nivalis Nights is the cyberpunk life sim from ION LANDS, the studio behind Cloudpunk, published by 505 Games. It came out on Steam for Windows PC on 29 September 2026 at 15:00 UTC, priced at $24.99 with a 10 per cent launch discount. You start with a noodle stand in a district squeezed by CorpSec crackdowns and a mysterious serial killer, and work your way up to restaurants and nightclubs while the rest of your life happens around the business: friends, rivals, a boat, a flat to decorate and maybe a relationship.

This page is the reference sheet for the game: what it is, how the business and the city work, what else fills your days, where you can get it, what it costs and what it asks of your PC. It is written for someone deciding whether to pick it up now that it is out. Everything on it comes from the Steam store page, the developer and publisher posts on Steam and 505 Games’ own product page.

The game

What Nivalis Nights is

A slice-of-life simulation with a business at its centre. The store files it under adventure, RPG and simulation; 505 Games calls it adventure, management and simulation. The store pitch is simple: every day is a choice between growing your business and forging bonds with the city’s strange inhabitants, and your path is entirely up to you.

The setting is Nivalis, a vertical cyberpunk city that stretches from the ocean to the clouds, built out of voxels. Where you live, CorpSec is cracking down and a serial killer is on the loose. The curfew that follows is not decoration: it is when the less legal parts of the game open up.

It is single-player. There is a main storyline with a beginning and an end, according to ION LANDS’ community Q&A, and more than 130 characters in the city carry stories of their own.

The loop

The business: from noodle stand to nightclub

You start humble with a noodle stand and climb toward the city’s top restaurants and premier nightclubs. The store’s feature list puts it plainly: manage businesses like restaurants, ramen bars or night clubs.

Ingredients and menus

You buy your ingredients or grow your own. The May 2026 devlog put the numbers at over 240 ingredients and 190 dishes, and a menu post from August lists the categories: meat dishes, fish and seafood, salads, sandwiches, pizza, soups, desserts, snacks and drinks. Each dish needs its recipe, its ingredients and the right equipment, and some are seasonal.

Staff, venues and suppliers

You hire and manage staff, upgrade your venues and expand into new districts, according to ION LANDS’ community Q&A. Buying repeatedly from the same vendor can get you better prices, and events in the city move the market.

Sabotage after curfew

The store text is explicit about the dark side: avoid security systems during curfew and commit sabotage against your competitors. The warning comes attached, verbatim: “What happens to them, can happen to you as well.”

Nivalis

The city, the curfew and getting around

There is no car to drive. You move between districts by HOVA taxi and by train, with a loading screen at each district boundary, and the subway system centres on The Metro Hub. What you do own is a boat.

Named districts include Seaside Boardwalk, with its pier and a fast train from the industrial district, Skyhigh Gardens, reached by flying taxi, and Calypso Island. A realistic weather system runs over the top, and the city is simulated in tiers depending on whether its people are outside your district, inside it but out of sight, or on screen.

On 11 September 505 Games posted a brochure-style tourist map of the city, the easiest way to get a feel for the districts before you move in.

After hours

Life outside work: homes, fishing and people

The other half of the game, and of its stories, is everything that is not the business. The store lists all of it as core features, not side content.

Homes

You can buy and decorate apartments, and customise homes for friends too. The May 2026 devlog counted 620 pieces of furniture.

Boat and fishing

You explore the city by boat and go fishing. The game simulates over 1,000 fish, and hundreds can appear at the same time.

Relationships

You make friends and enemies and may find love. More than 130 characters carry a story of their own, and English has full voice acting.

Mini games and chess

You can challenge NPCs to mini games and take part in a chess tournament.

Same city

Nivalis Nights and Cloudpunk

Same studio, same city. ION LANDS made Cloudpunk, and Nivalis Nights is set in the same Nivalis.

The studio’s own words from its March 2026 Q&A: “if you’ve played both, you might notice some familiar details and small connections. That said, this game is designed to be a standalone experience.” You do not need to have played Cloudpunk.

Who it’s for

Is Nivalis Nights for you?

Pick it up

It is for players who want a life sim with a real business underneath it, for anyone who liked Cloudpunk’s city and wants to spend more time in it, and for people who are in it for the characters as much as the numbers.

  • You want to run restaurants and go fishing in the same save
  • You liked Cloudpunk’s Nivalis
  • You pick life sims to meet strange people, not only to optimise
Wait

If you want company, or a console, this is not your version yet.

  • You want co-op or multiplayer, which it does not have
  • You are on console, Mac or Linux
  • You want to drive the city yourself: transport is taxis, trains and a boat
