A Sister's Journey
A Sister's Journey puts demanding jumps and run-and-gun combat in the same path. Weapons, upgrades, assist options and the current PC release.

You can shoot your way through a room in A Sister's Journey, but the next obstacle might need a much better jump. You play Violet, searching for her missing sister Rena through a connected pixel-art world. New skills and exploration upgrades open more routes, while traps and bosses keep movement just as important as your weapons.
Combat happens in real time: you fire, dodge attacks and move around hazards yourself. Each weapon has two special fire modes. Defeated enemies drop Power Crystals that increase your firepower, while components found around the world unlock further upgrades at the workbench. Exploring gives you more ways to fight; learning the movement is still your job.
The colourful world comes with a deliberately demanding platforming game. If that is the part putting you off, the store describes an optional Spiritual Guidance Mode, which you can turn on during play to enable assists for combat, traps and platforming. It is worth checking those options before ruling the game out on difficulty alone.
Worth a look if
You want exploration tied to weapon upgrades, with active shooting and precise movement.
Check before buying
You mainly want relaxed exploration. Check the Guidance options and the game's difficulty before buying.
Release and launch updates
Florian Lackner released the Windows PC version on Steam on 20 October 2026. The developer's v1.02.01 patch notes address quest triggers, possible softlocks and dialogue freezes, alongside performance improvements in some rooms. That is a useful launch warning if you are deciding whether to start immediately; patch notes are not proof that every issue is resolved.
