Where to find Tocotoco
Tocotoco spawns day and night in the drier regions — the desert / dry plains edge around Lv 11–14, the deep desert (Lv 25–29) and the southern Sakurajima desert (Lv 40–45).
It appears in the Ravine Grotto, Cavern of the Dunes and Volcanic Cavern, and hatches from a Common Egg.

The story of Tocotoco
"This Pal produces exploding eggs and often fires them from its rear as a form of defense. When spent, the Pal itself explodes."
Tocotoco is "Boom or Bust" made literal: a bird whose entire strategy is ordnance, right up to detonating itself when it runs out of eggs. It is a fixture of early bases as a Gunpowder farm, and its Eggbomb Launcher partner skill makes it one of the few Pals you can carry into a fight as a weapon.
Day 10. A toucan that fires bombs out of its backside. Caught a few for the Gunpowder.
Day 11. Ranch shelf is stacked with Gunpowder now — no more scrounging for ammo mats.
Day 12. Equipped one as a launcher and lobbed exploding eggs at a camp. Very effective.
