Tombat — Palworld Paldeck No. 052
Where to find Tombat in Palworld, how its Ultrasonic Sensor partner skill detects dungeons and chests, its Mining and Gathering work, drops and how to breed it.
Tombat No. 052
Tombat is the Dark Pal at No. 052 — a nocturnal bat-cat that loves to show off its wings. It is a strong early base worker with a genuinely useful exploration skill.
Where to find Tombat
Tombat is a night-only Pal. Early on it appears in the southern starter zones — the plains around the Plateau of Beginnings and the Sea Breeze Archipelago — around Lv 9–12, with higher-level pockets in the Astral Mountains Cavern (Lv 38–45).
A possible Alpha boss "Trickster Tombat" appears in Hillside Cavern and Isolated Island Cavern. It hatches from a Large Dark Egg.
Region: southern plains / Sea Breeze · Time: night only · Threat: neutral
Stats & how they vary
Melee 100, Shot 95, Stamina 100. Rarity value 5, Size M. The four displayed stats use Attack = Shot 95, with 100 melee and a sturdy 95 HP / 80 Defense — well-rounded for an early Pal. Type matchup. Dark is strong against Neutral and Dark and weak to Dragon — bring a Dragon Pal to catch it. Work speed 100 is the series default.
Work & drops
A strong base worker — Mining Lv 3 is the standout, making Tombat one of the better early ore and stone miners.
Leather ×1–2 (100%) · Small Pal Soul ×1 (1%). Leather for early crafting; the rare Pal Soul for condensing.
Partner skill: Ultrasonic Sensor
The practical breakdown of Ultrasonic Sensor.
Active skills
A mono-Dark kit topped by the Lv-70 Dark Whisp (600). Values from palworld.gg / paldb v1.0.0 (post-1.0).
How to breed Tombat
Tombat hatches from a Large Dark Egg and is a common night catch. No unique combo is required — many parent pairs produce it.
The story of Tombat
"This Pal often appears out of the blue to flaunt its prized wings in front of other Pals. Though it looks like intimidation, it seems to genuinely just enjoy showing off."
Tombat is a show-off, not a threat: it swoops in to display its wings and, apparently, revels in the attention. Behind the theatrics is one of the more useful early Pals — a Mining Lv 3 workhorse whose Ultrasonic Sensor turns exploration into a guided tour of the nearest loot.
Day 8. A bat-cat that keeps showing up at night just to spread its wings at my Pals.
Day 9. Activated its sensor and it pinged a dungeon I'd have walked right past.
Day 11. Mining Lv 3 — it out-digs everything else I own this early.
Day 14. Solid stats, too: 95/95/80. It holds its own in a fight.
