What Ratocalypse is
You send a party of rats into a plague-ravaged capital, but first decide how each soldier should behave. In Ratocalypse, skills have conditions and an order of use: you build the tactics, watch turn-based battles play out, and change the plan when it goes wrong. Your party can finally follow instructions. Whether those instructions were sensible is another matter.
Back at the settlement, you rebuild and improve your expedition members’ skills, equipment and abilities. The newly available demo includes four regions and six member classes, according to Cassel Games. Its appeal is the connection between party preparation and combat behaviour, rather than simply choosing every attack yourself.
Cassel Games, the studio behind Ratropolis and Ratopia, develops and publishes Ratocalypse. Steam lists Windows and macOS, but the full release date remains “To be announced”. The demo is a separate download; its availability does not mean the full game has launched.
