Fantastic Haven — everything we know
Fantastic Haven is a fantasy management game about running a shelter for endangered fantasy creatures, made by Piece of Cake Fabulous, from Paris-based Piece of Cake Studios, and published by Goblinz Publishing. You play the Elders, the protectors of the continent, in a world where magic is gradually disappearing in favor of technological advances. You rescue injured creatures, nurse them back to health in habitats built around their needs, release them into their natural environment and win over the local populations, one region at a time. Steam lists a planned release in Q4 2026, with no day set yet, and a free prologue has been playable since June 2024. This page is for anyone following cosy management sims and creature games: it covers the release date, platforms, the prologue and every confirmed system, and it is updated as news drops.

What’s confirmed about Fantastic Haven
Everything below comes from the Steam page, the developer’s announcement posts and the prologue. The Steam page sums the game up in one line: “Restore the equilibrium of magic by saving endangered fantasy creatures. Build your shelter to welcome and protect them, explore unique regions, rally neighboring populations to your cause and rehabilitate creatures in their natural environment.” The sections below take that line apart, from the premise through the rescue loop to the parts of the game that deal with people, and the open questions are listed at the end.

You play the Elders, saving fantasy creatures as magic fades
Magic is gradually disappearing in favor of technological advances that threaten the balance of the world. The inhabitants prefer to hunt the creatures and gradually abandon magic. Your mission as the Elders, the protectors of the continent, is to restore the balance by saving the fantasy creatures while using diplomacy and teaching to convince people to live in harmony with them.
Pick a starting point and explore unique regions
A new game starts with a choice of where to set up your refuge, and each location is unique, with its own difficulty. From there you build basic infrastructures to unlock new research and buildings, which let you welcome more creatures and make your refuge prosper. When magic is back in one region, a new region waits.
Send mages to explore the surrounding area
Exploration runs through your mages. You send them out to explore the surrounding area, and they discover points of interest, injured or endangered creatures, and populations you will have to deal with. Scouting the surrounding area is also how you collect resources.
Five types of ether are your resources and your currency
The game runs on ether. There are five types, and Steam describes them as the game’s creation resources and currency: what you build with and what you pay with, so exploring feeds the economy of your refuge.
Welcome fantasy creatures: quarantine, biotope, release
A rescued creature goes into quarantine first. After that you move it into an existing biotope or build a new one, respecting what the creature needs and which other creatures it can or cannot live with. You look after its well-being until it is ready to be reintroduced into its natural environment. Each new creature released helps restore magic, one step in the gradual restoration of the world. Once magic is fully restored in a region, your work there is done and you move on to the next region that needs help. The creatures are not yours to keep; letting them go is the point.
Diplomacy, reputation and choices that matter later
Not everyone nearby is friendly. You negotiate with hostile populations and make decisions with future repercussions. Conducting research improves the refuge, and training your citizens to care for the creatures raises its reputation. Diplomacy is how you forge strong ties with local populations and restore harmony between creatures, people, resources and magic.
Play Fantastic Haven now: the free prologue
The prologue is a free, standalone slice of the game on Steam with four creatures, ten buildings, one region and seven narrative events. It was published by Gamera Games rather than Goblinz. Steam also lists a separate demo for the full game, dated June 2024.

Fantastic Haven questions, answered
What is Fantastic Haven?
It is a fantasy management game published by Goblinz Publishing. You play the Elders, rescue endangered fantasy creatures, care for them in quarantine and biotopes built around their needs, and release them into the wild to restore magic, region by region. Diplomacy with nearby populations and your refuge’s reputation matter as much as the building.
When is the Fantastic Haven release date?
Steam lists a planned release in Q4 2026, with no exact day. The game was first announced for early access in Q2 2024, and the publisher’s own page still shows that old window. A 30 June 2026 date on some release sites does not come from the studio. This page updates when a day is set.
Is Fantastic Haven coming to Switch, PS5 or Xbox?
Not as far as anyone has announced. The Steam page, the GOG page and the publisher’s page list PC only, and neither the developer nor Goblinz has mentioned a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 or Xbox version. If a console release is confirmed, it will be added here.
What platforms is Fantastic Haven on?
It is a PC game. Steam lists Windows, macOS and Linux, and the game also has a store page on GOG, which currently shows Windows. Steam Deck compatibility is listed as unknown for now, and the minimum system requirements are still marked as to be determined.
Is Fantastic Haven: Prologue free?
Yes. The prologue has been free on Steam since 8 June 2024. It includes four creatures to rescue and reintroduce, ten buildings, one region to explore and seven narrative events. It sits at Mostly Positive on Steam, and it is Windows only, unlike the full game’s listing.
Is there a Fantastic Haven demo?
Steam lists a demo for the full game, dated June 2024, next to the free prologue, and the developers’ livestream posts that month invited players to try it. What the demo contains beyond the prologue has not been spelled out, and no new demo has been announced for the full release.
How much will Fantastic Haven cost?
The price has not been announced. The Steam and GOG pages show the game as coming soon with wishlists open and no price attached. The free prologue is the only part of the game with a price so far, and that price is zero. It will be added here when Goblinz confirms it.
Is Fantastic Haven multiplayer?
No multiplayer has been announced. Steam lists the game as single-player, with achievements, stats, Family Sharing and Steam Workshop support. Every system announced so far is about running your own refuge.
Who is making Fantastic Haven?
It is developed by Piece of Cake Fabulous, from Paris-based Piece of Cake Studios, the team behind Hacktag and Dark Hours, and published by Goblinz Publishing. The free prologue on Steam is published by Gamera Games. Official updates come through the Steam page and the game’s X account.
