"It has about 5,000 types of venom. Some of them are deadly enough to cause instant death, but none are present in a high enough concentration to have any effect."

It carries roughly 5,000 kinds of venom. Some are lethal enough to kill instantly — and not one of them is concentrated enough to actually do anything. The Paldeck describes a creature that solved the wrong half of the problem five thousand times over.
