Whalaska's one genuine roaming zone is the Isle of the Glacial Core (5_2_island_iceblock) at Lv 50–60, in the far north.

Most of its spawn sheet is fishing spots — eight of them — plus the Astral Mountains Cavern dungeon at Lv 42–44 and a Lv 55 alpha north of the Land of Absolute Zero. Fishing is genuinely the easier route to one.

"When it sleeps, Pals often mistake it for a drifting piece of ice and rest on it. Although gentle and unwilling to push them away when awake, it feels quietly stressed by the intrusion on its personal space."

Pals mistake a sleeping Whalaska for drifting ice and climb on to rest. It is too gentle to shoo them off once awake, and the Paldeck notes it finds this quietly stressful. A whale too polite to mention that it is not furniture.
