This WoW Forever Holy Priest build is a level-60 healing example with 19 points in Discipline, 32 in Holy and none in Shadow. It combines Prayer of Mending, direct heals and Renew with talents that support Mana recovery. The full 51-point allocation is below, with an interactive talent calculator so you can inspect each choice.
If you are new to WoW, your job as a healer is to notice who needs help and choose a spell that can reach them in time. You spend Mana to restore health; spending it on someone who does not need healing leaves less for the next dangerous moment. This guide explains those decisions before asking you to remember talent names.
I checked this example against the saved FOREVER talent rules and freshly compared the provider data. I have not tested its healing output in game. The talent reference is client snapshot 1.60.1.70755; the separate spell reference names its own version. This is an explained starting plan, not a claim that every raid should use the same build.

What playing Holy Priest is like
You watch friendly health bars, select an ally and choose the amount and timing of help they need. A tank is the player trying to keep enemies attacking them. Keeping that player alive matters, but another party member can need urgent attention too.
- A direct heal restores health when it lands. Heal and Greater Heal require you to stand still and finish a cast. A larger heal arriving after someone dies cannot save them.
- A heal over time keeps working after you cast it. Renew restores health in repeated ticks. That makes it useful for ongoing damage, but it does not replace an urgent direct heal.
- An absorb prevents some future damage. Power Word: Shield is a shield, not missing health being restored. The recorded Weakened Soul restriction prevents repeatedly shielding the same target without a gap.
- A reactive spell waits for a trigger. Prayer of Mending is placed on an ally and reacts to damage or non-periodic healing, then can move to another party or raid member. Its position matters as well as the first target's health.
This build suits players who want to learn group healing through several different tools. It gives up deep Discipline talents such as Penance and Power Infusion, and it is not a Shadow damage setup. If you want to quest primarily through Shadow spells, compare the separate Shadow Priest build.
Holy Priest talent calculator: try the build
The example spends all 51 normal talent points: 19 Discipline / 32 Holy / 0 Shadow. It uses the recorded FOREVER prerequisites and rank limits. Legacy perks are outside this point budget.
Select a talent to read its effect, then add or remove ranks to see how the tree changes. Load the example again whenever you want to return to this plan. The static talent table remains readable without JavaScript. The spell reference also retains version-sensitive class entries and talents you have not selected. It records source data, rather than proving that every listed spell is available to this build.
The point order checked by the planner proves that this level-60 allocation is reachable. It is not a recommended solo leveling order: learning to heal a dungeon and killing quest enemies by yourself are different tasks.

Why these Holy and Discipline talents are here

Prayer of Mending gives Holy a different healing decision
Prayer of Mending is the final Holy talent selected here. Rather than filling a health bar immediately on command, you put its effect on an ally and let the recorded trigger activate it. When another player is likely to take damage, consider where the spell starts and whether nearby party members can receive its later jumps.
The point in Spirit of Redemption is required before Prayer of Mending in this captured tree. Spirit of Redemption also provides a short healing window after your character dies. It is a fallback, not a reason to take avoidable damage or stop protecting yourself.
The older captured talent tooltip for Prayer of Mending is empty. Its separate spell entries and a freshly retrieved FOREVER talent export describe the ability. The reference shows that source distinction rather than turning an empty field into a guessed healing amount.

Direct heals, Renew and Holy Binding cover different injuries
Divine Fury shortens the named cast-time spells, including Heal and Greater Heal. Improved Healing reduces the Mana cost of the spells specifically listed in its description; it does not make every heal cheaper. Spiritual Healing improves healing, while Spiritual Guidance connects Spirit to spell healing and a smaller spell-damage benefit.
Improved Renew supports healing over time. Inspiration adds a protective Armor effect after eligible critical heals. These do different jobs: steady recovery and a conditional defensive benefit are not interchangeable with a large direct heal.
Holy Binding makes Flash Heal cast on another target also heal you. That is useful when both you and an ally are injured. You use your existing Flash Heal button; the talent supplies the extra self-healing. This allocation does not grant a separate Binding Heal button.

Mana support keeps the healing plan practical
Litany of Light rewards changing between healing spells according to its recorded condition. It returns Mana based on the spell's base cost when the previous heal was a different spell. Choose a different heal when it suits the injury; do not cast unnecessary spells just to trigger a refund.
Meditation supports Mana regeneration while casting. Mental Strength increases Intellect, Mental Agility reduces the cost of its listed instant and offensive spells, and Inner Focus prepares the next eligible spell for a Mana discount and conditional critical benefit. Twin Disciplines supports instant casts. Silent Resolve reduces spell threat, which is how much enemy attention your actions generate, alongside its other named effects.
This plan leaves two ranks out of Holy Specialization and one out of Twilight Focus to reach the selected healing and Mana tools. It also leaves Holy Reach unselected. You can inspect those alternatives, but changing points means checking the tree gates again rather than copying only the final talent.
Holy Priest healing priority: choose for the situation
A healing priority is a way to decide what matters next. It is not a fixed rotation to repeat regardless of the party's health. Use the situation buttons to compare three common problems.

One ally is taking steady damage
Select the injured ally and check whether they can safely wait for a cast-time heal. Use Heal or Greater Heal when their missing health and the time available justify it. Renew can support continuing damage, and Prayer of Mending can be prepared where its trigger and jumps will be useful.
Watch the result before immediately casting again. A heal that lands on a full health bar is called overhealing: the extra restoration does not create extra health. It can still cost you Mana. The aim is to keep the target safe while retaining enough resources for the rest of the fight.

An ally is close to dying, and you are hurt too
Use a heal that can land before the next dangerous hit. Flash Heal is the quicker direct-heal option in this recorded toolkit. With Holy Binding selected, casting it on another ally also restores some of your health. That gives you a reason to check your own health bar as well as the tank's.
Power Word: Shield can absorb some incoming damage when the target is eligible. Remember its restriction and follow up on the actual injury. If you have to move out of danger, a stationary cast may be interrupted by that movement; instant spells can help you act while repositioning. No spell choice guarantees a rescue if incoming damage is too high.

Several party members are injured
Prayer of Healing heals the target and their party according to the recorded spell description, with a range condition around that target. Read the grouping and positioning requirements before treating it as a heal for everyone you can see. A raid is divided into parties, so party healing and raid-wide healing are different promises.
Prayer of Mending has a separate jumping mechanic. It is not the same spell as Prayer of Healing. Pick the one that fits the damage pattern, check who can receive its effect and use direct heals on urgent individual injuries.
Holy Nova is not selected in this example. Its presence elsewhere in the Holy talent tree does not mean this allocation grants it.
Mana, gear and useful buttons outside the healing loop
Healing gear and stats for this build
Look at what an item actually gives your character. Healing power supports healing; Intellect and Spirit interact with this build's Mana and talent choices. Stamina supports your own health. Compare those properties with the problem you are trying to solve rather than treating one stat as a universal answer.
This guide does not provide simulated stat weights or a verified best-in-slot gear list. A staff and a main-hand/off-hand combination should be compared by their recorded item properties, not by assuming the weapon type alone makes one better. Weapon damage is not the same property as healing power.
Keep room for recovery and dispels
Carry drinking supplies and recover Mana between fights when it is safe. Tell the group if you need a pause before the next pull. A pull means starting the next encounter; running ahead while the healer has little Mana changes what the group can survive.
Keep Dispel Magic accessible and read the effect you are trying to remove. It applies to its named Magic effects; it is not a universal answer to every poison, curse or other debuff. A debuff is a harmful effect on a character.
Resurrection brings back a dead ally under its recorded restrictions and cannot be cast in combat. Avoid confusing it with an emergency button for someone still fighting. Positioning, enough Mana and communicating with the group remain part of healing even when your talent points are correct.
Leveling, dungeons and the difference from Discipline
You gain talent points as you level, so a new character cannot load this whole level-60 plan immediately. The planner shows the complete destination. It does not prove that this is the fastest leveling build or that every intermediate level should follow its construction order.
This Holy example goes deep enough to take Prayer of Mending. A deep Discipline build can reach different tools, including Penance and Power Infusion, which this 19-point Discipline allocation does not unlock. Both are Priest paths, but they should have their own explanations and complete allocations rather than sharing a page with a swapped title.
For a first dungeon, learn which spell you intend to use for steady damage, which faster response you can reach under pressure and how to recognize when your Mana is low. Knowing those decisions is more useful than memorizing an unexplained sequence of spell names.
Holy Priest build questions
When can you unlock Prayer of Mending?
The captured tree requires 30 points in Holy and the Spirit of Redemption prerequisite before you can buy Prayer of Mending. A character putting points into Holy first can reach that 31st Holy point at level 40. This guide shows the complete level-60 allocation; spending 19 points in Discipline first would delay that unlock.
Is Holy Binding the same as Binding Heal?
Holy Binding is a passive talent in this example. The FOREVER tooltip says that Flash Heal on another target also heals you for 50% as much, without generating threat from that extra healing. You still press Flash Heal; this plan does not grant a separate Binding Heal button. Check whether both health bars need help before relying on its extra recovery.
How do I compare spell ranks?
Open the Spell reference tab, choose a spell and select a recorded rank. Each rank has its own listed effect. Treat those numbers as source values, not a promise of your equipped character's exact healing output. A lower rank is not automatically the right choice: the amount of missing health and how soon healing must arrive still matter.
Sources, versions and uncertain effects
This guide uses FOREVER-only data. Its talent layout, prerequisites and rank limits follow the captured 1.60.1.70755 rules, freshly compared with Endgame Tools. The separate provider spell layer retains its 1.60.1.70753 label. Those labels describe the sources; they are not a claim that all values were tested together on the current live server.
Nine original Priest TEMP cases remain in the spell reference, within the unchanged global registry of 64 cases. They concern Contingency Plan and Shadow Word: Death. Unresolved values stay marked with the small question-mark icon; hover, focus or tap it for the explanation. They are not silently converted into confirmed healing values.
The example is a structurally checked educational allocation. It has not been tested in game, simulated for healing output or proved best for every dungeon, raid or PvP match.

There is also one separately marked source-placement warning in the talent reference. These are the Priest entries from the unchanged 64-case research registry. Unresolved values remain empty.
