WoW Forever First Aid guide: bandages, healing potions and supplies

Learn First Aid in WoW Forever: bandage progression, healing-potion changes, cloth planning, recipe sources and First Aid Kit camp utility.

Read guide

First Aid has a larger role in Forever than an old bandage-only checklist suggests. It is a secondary profession, and the checked Forever data places ordinary healing potions here rather than in Alchemy. You do not need to give up a primary profession to develop it.

First Aid trainer locations and the next rank

Start with an Apprentice First Aid trainer in a capital city or nearby town. The Forever trainer overview lists Shaina Fuller in Stormwind, Nissa Firestone in Ironforge and Pand Stonebinder in Thunder Bluff among the options. Ask a city guard for directions if you are already there.

Apprentice and Journeyman come from trainers; Expert uses a book, and Artisan First Aid comes from a quest. If the skill bar has stopped at a cap, check which kind of upgrade you need before buying more cloth. A manual that teaches a particular bandage is different from the book that raises the profession cap.

Expert First Aid and bandage manuals

The Expert First Aid – Under Wraps tooltip requires 125 First Aid and raises the cap to 225. Read it before the 150 cap stops further gains. Learning Expert does not itself give you every recipe for that skill range.

Check the separate manuals for Heavy Silk Bandage and Mageweave Bandage when planning the same trip. Compare the vendor journey with the Auction House price of the actual book, not another item with a similar name. Leave enough gold for the cloth you still need after training.

Bandages and healing potions do different jobs

Bandages provide a way to heal, while potions and other curatives follow their own use conditions. Read the item you intend to use, put it on a reachable action-bar slot and check its cooldown. A recovery item stored in the bank will not help during the journey.

Wowhead's Forever First Aid overview reports the healing-potion move and added curatives. That overview was written during beta; the Forever First Aid spell database corroborates the profession assignment. Exact recipe thresholds should be checked in your current client.

First Aid leveling guide: a cloth-based starting route

The community overview gives the following opening bandage progression. Treat quantities as estimates and check the next recipe before spending all your cloth.

Heavy Linen Bandage

Wool Bandage

This provides a clear cloth route without assuming that every potion recipe is the cheapest way to gain skill. If a curative or potion is useful to you and its materials are affordable, compare it with the available bandage recipe.

The vendor trip beyond skill 150

The same reference points to Expert First Aid – Under Wraps and bandage manuals. It lists Deneb Walker in Stromgarde Keep for Alliance and Balai Lok'Wein in Brackenwall Village for Horde. Check the book or manual's requirements before buying or traveling; learning a higher rank and learning a particular bandage are separate steps.

The source's later cloth path uses Silk Bandage, Heavy Silk Bandage and Mageweave Bandage. It is a reference route rather than a tested launch shopping list from Crit Pick. Check the trainer, manual and recipe in your client before purchasing a large batch.

Save cloth if you also use Tailoring

Tailoring and First Aid can compete for the same cloth stock. Reserve a practical bandage supply first, then divide the remainder between skill progress and equipment or bags. Do not let two material lists each assume ownership of the same stack.

Herbalism can support potion ingredients, but First Aid does not require Herbalism as a profession. You can buy herbs or receive them from another player while keeping both primary slots for crafts.

Choose supplies around the next activity

Before a dungeon or quest session, check what you can currently make and carry. Choose useful supplies in a quantity you will realistically use. A more advanced recipe is not a reason to spend every available ingredient if you cannot yet use the finished item.

Keep your emergency stock separate from output for sale. When comparing costs, include cloth's sale value, herbs and vendor supplies. Materials found during quests still have another possible use.

First Aid Kit: Stamina at your camp

The early First Aid Kit grants Stamina and overlaps with Power Word: Fortitude. Coordinate with a Priest or another camp contributor rather than assuming both benefits stack. The official camping article describes the effect.

First Aid is a practical addition when you want more self-supplied recovery options. It complements your character's abilities; it does not remove the need to learn when each item can safely be used. ## Artisan First Aid and the Triage quest

At character level 35 and First Aid 225, the Forever overview directs Alliance players to Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen on Theramore Isle in Dustwallow Marsh, and Horde players to Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall. The quest rewards Artisan First Aid, allowing progress toward 300.

Triage objectives: save fifteen before six patients die

The actual Alliance Triage quest and Horde Triage quest require fifteen patients saved before six die. Use the supplied Triage Bandages rather than spending your own bandages. The objective is the timed treatment sequence, not crafting an ordinary bandage batch.

The quest instructs you to prioritize Critically Injured patients, then Badly Injured, then Injured. Read those labels before selecting a target. Put the quest bandage on your action bar and stand where you can see the beds. Start when you have time to focus on the attempt.

Patient health bars and a reachable action bar

Enable the appropriate friendly nameplates or patient health bars in your current interface options. Key bindings can differ, so check your own controls instead of assuming a particular Ctrl shortcut is universal. Use the labels and remaining health to decide who needs attention next, and avoid interrupting a bandage partway through its use.

If the attempt fails, check the quest's current state and speak to the doctor before starting again. On success, turn in the quest promptly and confirm the new First Aid skill cap. An objective showing progress is not the same as having learned the rank reward.

First Aid leveling: cloth stages and skill points

Linen Cloth, Wool Cloth, Silk Cloth and Mageweave Cloth belong to different recipe stages. Buy for your current target skill rather than assuming one cloth tier can replace another. A higher-level bandage also has its own use requirement, so keep a practical supply your character can actually use.

Yellow and green recipes are estimates

A yellow or green recipe can take more than one craft for the next skill point. Check progress after a small batch. If you are already near the next milestone, do not repeat an entire starting shopping list. Keep materials needed by a useful potion or curative separate from the cloth route.

When comparing alternatives, count every input and the recipe's acquisition cost. A cheap herb does not make the complete potion cheap if the other ingredients are expensive. Equally, a practical curative can justify a different route when you will use its output.

Healing potions, anti-venom and the use tooltip

First Aid now covers healing potions as well as bandages. They serve different situations, so inspect their use conditions, cooldown and character level requirements. Plan around the item you can use in the next dungeon or quest session, rather than merely the highest recipe you can learn.

For anti-venom and other remedies, read which effect or restriction the particular item handles. A poison remedy does not automatically remove a disease or bleed. Check the actual recipe and item tooltip before carrying it as your answer to a specific encounter.

The Recently Bandaged effect

Check the Recently Bandaged effect when deciding whether another bandage can be used. Do not assume a stack of bandages means uninterrupted repeated healing. Watch the item's channel and other use conditions; a potion or a class ability has separate rules.

A reachable action-bar slot helps you use the right item deliberately. Keep quest bandages, ordinary bandages and healing potions clearly separated so an emergency does not become a search through several similar icons.

First Aid FAQ

Can I keep two primary tradeskills?

Yes. First Aid is a secondary profession, so it can sit alongside Cooking and Fishing while you retain your primary tradeskills. Herbalism can supply some potion ingredients, but you can also buy or trade for them.

Why can I not learn the next bandage?

Check your current rank, First Aid skill and the recipe's trainer or manual. Raising the cap and learning the craft are separate actions. If you have the wrong manual, compare its exact title with the recipe you are trying to unlock.

Should I level through healing potions instead?

Compare your current recipes and local material prices. Bandages offer a straightforward cloth route, while potions can provide output you want to use. Choose a small stage and evaluate the complete cost before committing every ingredient.
