Battleplan
Battleplan: full release, 12 October 2026 (Steam PC). Planning campaigns from the map table.
What Battleplan is
Foolish Mortals Games develops it and Slitherine publishes it. This is a Second World War strategy game about commanding divisions, not clicking every soldier through a firefight.
You draw plans directly on a map, set an order of battle and a chain of command, and watch officers carry out those orders across large, geographically grounded battlefields. That distance between issuing a plan and seeing it survive contact is the appeal.
It may also be the barrier if you want immediate, precise control of every unit. The Steam description promises campaigns that simulate battles unfolding over many days; the quality of the command AI still needs judging from actual play. If you want the map-table part of military strategy, Battleplan has a clearer pitch than another game promising merely “realism.”
