What is in the Disciple demo

Disciple got its demo on 24 September, and the pitch fits into four words: Peggle meets Vampire Survivors. It is the debut game of Angry Goblin Games.

map: the Hollow

0.7.12

first demo update, 26 Sep

You launch a disc into the Abyss. It ricochets off crystals and through swarms of eldritch horrors, and every crystal you break gives you essence. Collect enough and you are reborn for the next descent. Fall short and the Abyss takes you.

Along the way you pick up holy artefacts, like a blade that cuts through crystals and monsters or a sentinel that fires on its own, and you build around them. The demo has three characters, the Templar, the Seer and the Scorched, one map called the Hollow, and a score attack mode called Vigil.

What players say

It is too new for Steam reviews: on 28 September the demo had none yet. The developer already shipped a first fix on 26 September, update 0.7.12, for controller input and enemy balance, which is a good sign for how feedback gets handled.

Try the demo if

  • You like Peggle-style aiming with a build on top
  • You want short runs with a score to chase

Maybe skip it if

  • You want lots of content right away
  • You need player reviews before you try something

When the full game comes out

The full game is planned for 2027 on Steam. It is one of the eight demos in our demos to try list, where every demo we featured or reviewed sits in one place.
