Croajiro Noct
Where to find Croajiro Noct in Palworld (Yamijima, level 61-62), how to breed it from Croajiro and Bushi Noct, and what Shadow Stance does — plus stats, work, skills and drops.
Croajiro Noct No. 009B
Croajiro Noct is the Water/Dark variant of Croajiro at No. 009B. It shares the launchpad trick and almost nothing else. The base Croajiro is a level-4 river frog you catch in your first hour. The Noct is a level 61–62 pack hunter on Sakurajima, a high-level island most players will not reach for a long time — with a different element, a different partner skill, a different move set and an extra drop.
Where to find Croajiro Noct
Croajiro Noct lives on Sakurajima — the Japanese-themed island in the north-west, along its shores and lakes. The game data places it on the plateau at level 61–62, and in practice most players never fight one: they fish it out of Sakurajima's water.
Three alternatives exist, and two are far easier. Breeding is the sane route (see below). It hatches from a Large Damp Egg. And a Large Fishing Pond hooks one at around 7.3% at level 36–48. It can also turn up in raids at low level.
Region: Sakurajima · Time: day & night · Sphere: high-tier · Threat: high
Stats & how they vary
Base values before IVs, passives and condensing. Everything is a little better than the base Croajiro — +10 Shot Attack, +5 Defense, +5 HP — but "a little" is the operative word. At level 80 it reaches 4,300–5,320 HP and 760–958 Attack. Nobody catches this for the ten extra points; you catch it for the Dark typing, the weak-point aura and the Venom Glands.
Work & drops
The same four jobs as the base, with Handiwork bumped to Lv 2. Handiwork is the bottleneck station in most bases — it gates every crafting queue you have — so this is a real upgrade, not a rounding error.
The Venom Gland is the reason to farm it: two to four, guaranteed, every single time — and Venom Glands are otherwise a chore.
How the Noct differs from Croajiro
Two Pals with one silhouette and almost no overlap.
The skills are not the same buff with a new coat of paint. Leap Stance is a burst window — climb on, get thrown, hit hard on the way down. Shadow Stance is a permanent party aura for a damage type. If you already carry a base Croajiro for the launch, the Noct is not an upgrade to it; it is a different tool. Note the synergy, though: the Noct's own kit is mostly Dark, and its aura boosts Dark damage to weak points. It buffs itself.
Active skills
A full Dark rebuild. The base Croajiro throws water; the Noct throws poison and shadow — keeping only Acid Rain from its old self.
How to breed Croajiro Noct
Do not walk to Sakurajima at level 20. Breed it.
A verified unique combination, not a rank average, so it lands every time. Croajiro you already have — it was your first river frog. Bushi Noct is the only real errand, and given the alternative is a level-61 pack on a plateau, that errand is worth running.
The story of Croajiro Noct
Its Paldeck entry picks up where the base's left off, and somehow gets darker: “The Croajiro who have forsaken their honor gather and form splinter groups. They will use any underhanded means to take down their chosen prey. If you encounter a pack of Croajiro Noct in the dead of the night, it's your life that's on the line.”
So the base Croajiro belongs to a herd with a brutal code, and the Noct are the ones who walked away from it. Its alpha is called Natural Born Killer. Palworld does not usually bother building a two-part story across a Pal and its variant — here it did, and the punchline is that the dishonourable ones are the dangerous ones.
Day 58. Heard them before I saw them. My Croajiro — the honest one, from the river — would not leave the sphere.
Day 60. Gave up and bred one instead. It hatched, looked at me, and I understood immediately why they hunt in packs and why the game warns you about the dark.
Day 71. It runs Handiwork now, which is an undignified end for a natural born killer, and it produces more Venom Glands in a week than I gathered in a month. I have stopped feeling bad about it.
Croajiro Noct, answered
Where do you find Croajiro Noct?
On the Sakurajima plateau, at level 61–62. You can also hatch it from a Large Damp Egg, hook it from a Large Fishing Pond (about 7.3%, level 36–48), or breed it — which is what almost everyone does.
How do you breed Croajiro Noct?
Croajiro + Bushi Noct. A verified unique combination, so the pairing produces it reliably.
What is Croajiro Noct's partner skill?
Shadow Stance — it launches you into the air like the base Croajiro, but the party buff is different: +25–40% Dark damage to enemy weak points, for you and your Pals. It does not stack.
Is Croajiro Noct better than Croajiro?
For your base, yes — Handiwork Lv 2 instead of Lv 1, and guaranteed Venom Glands. In combat it is marginally stronger (+10 Shot Attack). But the partner skills do different jobs: the base gives an airborne damage window, the Noct a permanent Dark weak-point aura. Neither replaces the other.
What does Croajiro Noct drop?
Aquatic Pal Fluids (always), Cloth (25%), and Venom Gland ×2–4 every time — the main reason to farm it.
Was Croajiro Noct renumbered in Palworld 1.0?
Yes. It was No. 114B before 1.0 and is No. 009B now.
