Croajiro
Where to find Croajiro in Palworld (the starting rivers), how its Leap Stance partner skill launches you for a +50-86% Attack window, plus stats, work suitabilities, active skills and drops.
Croajiro No. 009
Croajiro is the Water-element Pal at No. 009 — a kendo frog that stands upright by the rivers of the starting region. It hits harder than anything else you can catch this early (100 Attack, where most starters sit at 70), it works four different jobs, and its partner skill is one of the strangest in the game: it turns into a launchpad.
Where to find Croajiro
Croajiro lives by water in the starting region — the rivers and coastal edges of the opening green country, at roughly level 4–6, day and night. You will meet it long before you are ready to appreciate it.
Higher-level populations sit in cold waters (10–12), in the Cherry Blossom Cave on Sakurajima (40–45, where the alpha Harakiri Master patrols at 47–49), and in Sakurajima's red country (47–49). You can also fish it up: a Fishing Pond at your base hooks one at roughly 9.5% at level 11–18. Unlike most early Pals it takes normal damage when wild, so chip it down and throw a regular Pal Sphere.

Stats & how they vary
Base values before IVs, passives and condensing. 100 Attack at No. 009 is the headline — every other Pal you can reach in the opening hours sits at 70 or below. Croajiro simply hits harder, and it has the Defense (85) to survive doing it. At level 80 it lands at 4,100–5,060 HP and 700–880 Attack.
Work & drops
Four jobs. Croajiro is a genuine generalist — it will not top any single station, but it plugs whatever hole your base has that day, and it does so while being your best early fighter.
Aquatic Pal Fluids every time, and Cloth about a quarter of the time. The Cloth is the part worth noticing — it normally means farming Wool and processing it; Croajiro sometimes hands it over directly.
Partner skill: Leap Stance
Most early partner skills are passive. This one is a move you use.
It is genuinely rare for a Pal you catch in the first hour to still be in your loadout at endgame. This one has a fair claim.
A note on the in-game text. Palworld's own description of Leap Stance reads “…Croajiro Noct channels its loyalty…” — on the base Croajiro's skill. Both major databases show the same string, because both pull it straight from the game. It is a typo in Pocketpair's text, not in ours: the skill belongs to Croajiro, and the Noct has its own, different one.
Active skills
A pure Water kit — light pressure early, heavy artillery by the end. Every move applies Soak.
How to breed Croajiro
Croajiro hatches from a Damp Egg and is common enough by the starting rivers that catching is faster. Breeding matters for one reason: the variant.
Worth knowing before you commit: the Noct is a level 61–62 Pal in the wild. Breeding is not a shortcut you take for convenience — it is the only sane way to get one before the endgame.
The story of Croajiro
Croajiro arrived with the Sakurajima update, and it wears that origin openly: a frog that stands like a swordsman, in a herd with a code.
Its Paldeck entry is one of the bleakest in the game: “Those who disgrace the honor of the herd are forced to take their own life. By piercing their inflated vocal sac with a tree branch, they are blown away into the atmosphere and return to the afterlife.”
Palworld habitually hides something grim behind something silly, and this is the clearest case of it. The joke is a frog that launches you into the air. The lore is what that launch is — the same inflated sac, the same trajectory, a different ending. Its alpha form is called the Harakiri Master, which removes any doubt that the developers knew what they were writing.
Day 7. Found a frog standing upright by the river like it was waiting for a duel. It was, roughly.
Day 12. Discovered what Leap Stance does by standing on it without reading anything first. I have never been that high up. I landed badly and I will do it again.
Day 30. Now I open every serious fight from the air: step on the frog, go up, come down swinging at nearly double damage. The frog seems fine about it.
Croajiro, answered
Where do you find Croajiro?
By the rivers and coasts of the starting region, at roughly level 4–6, day or night. Higher-level ones live in colder waters (10–12) and in the Cherry Blossom Cave on Sakurajima (40–45), where the alpha, Harakiri Master, sits around 47–49.
How do you catch Croajiro?
Chip it down and throw a regular Pal Sphere — unlike most early Pals it takes normal damage when wild, so it will not die on you mid-fight. You can also fish one out of a Fishing Pond at about 9.5% (level 11–18), or hatch it from a Damp Egg.
What is Croajiro's partner skill?
Leap Stance — activate it, climb on, and Croajiro launches you into the air. While airborne, your Attack rises by 50–86%, scaling with condensing.
Is Croajiro good?
Unusually, yes — right away. At 100 Attack it hits harder than any other Pal you can catch in the opening hours, it has four work suitabilities, and its launch stays useful from the first hour to the last.
What does Croajiro drop?
Aquatic Pal Fluids, one to two, every time — plus Cloth, one to two, about a quarter of the time. Note the name: it is Aquatic Pal Fluids, the same item Fuack and Celaray drop, not plain "Pal Fluids".
Was Croajiro renumbered in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, and dramatically. Croajiro was No. 114 before 1.0 and is No. 009 now.
